It is the founding moment of the Eucharist, and the most reproduced artwork in the world: Leonardo da Vinci's version at Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan has been copied, parodied, and reimagined more than any other painting. This version returns it to the icon tradition — warm lamp light, arched windows, Jerusalem visible beyond — the intimacy of the meal before everything changed.
