Gustave Moreau's Hesiod and the Muse Skateboard Wall Art - Premium Canadian Maple Deck
Gustave Moreau painted Hesiod and the Muse in 1891. The Greek poet Hesiod wrote that the Muses appeared to him on Mount Helicon and breathed poetic inspiration into him — the earliest account of divine artistic inspiration in Western literature. Moreau, the leading French Symbolist painter, shows the Muse embracing and whispering to Hesiod, both figures gilded and dreamlike against a dark landscape. The painting is at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
